Qualifications?
Masters degree in business (MBA), TAN Coaching certification, DISC accredited and Family Enterprise certified.
Experience?
For almost 25yrs I have been involved in building and growing companies. I have worked with sole traders looking to grow and change their lifestyle, with local business owners who need to provide their team (and themselves) structure and direction, with family business directors on transition and scale and with global market leaders looking to establish local operations and launch new divisions.
While I still enjoy the challenge of corporate and executive strategy, nothing beats the speed at which a small business can be optimised and the impact that has on an owner’s family, team and community. I’ll do that forever.
Why?
In 2013 I almost died. It’s very cliché but it was a “life changing experience” that forced me to re-evaluate, focus on what was important and decide to always be in control. It was a turning point.
What I realised through that period, is that turning points and life changing moments are often forced upon us unexpectedly. If we make it out the other side then there is huge learning but the process is extremely stressful. I saw this often in business where health, death, divorce, separation etc forced unexpected changes to be made quickly and reactively. The owner’s priorities had to be shifted, time off had to be taken, extra cash found and structures changed. It became clear to me that if those same changes could be made pro-actively in a controlled environment, instead of under the stress of forced change, then the benefits of extra time, money and control could be an enjoyment rather than a relief.
So I set out to create positive, proactive change for business owners so they can choose to “enjoy” time and money in their business (instead of being forced to “spend” it). Since that time we have helped hundreds of business owners, we interact with thousands of owners weekly and I personally talk to business owners, just like you, every day about how to make their great businesses even greater.
We don’t see that changing for a very, very long time.
Personal?
A beautiful wife and three great children inspire me daily and I love live music (like really, really love it!)
As your local business advisor I have two separate but connected roles:
One is to connect with the local business community with workshops and educational material, the other working with our clients.
Business Advisor
Working with clients on a Return-On-Investment (ROI) basis.
This means the income made by clients as a result of working with us must be at least a 5 times ROI. We believe fee structures should be transparent and accountable. For this reason we have proprietary software to ensure both client and advisor have an ROI “fit” before starting a program.

Since TAN was established in 2014 we have met, promoted and helped thousands of local businesses with this program. Help has taken many forms from Free PR where businesses are promoted on our social media platforms through to assessing businesses for profit potential. Often business owners will simply want a few pointers from an outside perspective.
All our consultants do this on a voluntary basis as their contribution to building business success.

Our programs are only offered to clients on an ROI basis after businesses have been analysed to determine the upside available to the business owner. Businesses must demonstrate a 500% ROI to be eligible for a program. This approach has been developed after years of in-field experience of being consultants, coaches, trainers and presenters.
